AI: The Perfect Scapegoat for Corporate Layoffs

Amazon recently laid off another 16,000 employees, ostensibly due to AI. In this video, I discuss AI as an explanation. While AI is an important factor in how our economy and companies are functioning, I argue that AI is more of a convenient scapegoat than a direct cause in this case.

I conclude by thinking a bit on the safety of ontology jobs. And then I discuss the ethical obligations of companies in these situations.
